Christmas

Trevor must have been a very good boy this year because Santa was very good to him.

Trevor loved everything he received. He was running around in circles he was so excited. This Christmas was extra special because he is old enough to understand whats going on.

The night before Christmas he got to open one gift. He got Thomas PJ's.

We made rice crispy treats and decorated them to look like houses. Okay, mine looked like a house. Trevor just dumped all the candy onto his. :)

Then he would take them off and start over again. It kept him busy so I'm not complaining. We also made cookies for Santa.

Opening gifts Christmas morning.

Santa gave him a cool truck. He's so short he can't reach the pedal to make it drive. So its a giant toy box when I'm not pushing the gas down for him. Poor guy needs to grow.

Trevor became the Cookie Monster and ate way to many cookies. He got cut off by me and Auntie. :)

Lots of "Tommy" things such as dvds, sheets, clothes, flashlight and a Thomas computer. The kid is hooked up with "Tommy" stuff.

I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping, just a few more things to get. Tomorrow I plan to finish up. After a huge hunt I've found the basketball hoop that seemed to have been sold out EVERYWHERE! I'm very happy about that, its going to make Trevor a very happy little boy.

We went looking at the lights around town again. Trevor loves the lights so every night for the last few weeks we drive around and look at them.

6 more days!! I can't wait!

We went to see Santa today. I was very worried because last week Trevor wanted nothing to do with Santa. He was okay today, just wouldn't smile. I'm glad he went with it today because I didn't have anymore time before Christmas to take him. He looks so grownup. :(

Today is my birthday and its also Thanksgiving. Trevor and I went to dinner at my Sister's house. We both ate way to much, the food was great! I've never seen Trevor eat as much food as he ate today. :)

Trevor went to see Thomas today. He loved his first train ride.

He wanted to sit in his own seat. He such a big boy now.

Ginny was nice to bring Trevor. They had to drive up to Perris to go on this train ride.

Glasses

Trevor had a eye appointment a few weeks ago and I was told he need glasses. Most severally premature babies end up with some form of eye problems. I've known that he was going to need glasses but had hopes that it wouldn't be anytime soon. I assumed that he would hate them and they would be a huge hassle.

I was right he hated them and refused to try them on we had to hold him down to get a proper fit. After waiting a couple of weeks for the g;asses to be made we went to pick them up and again he refused to try them on. This isn't going to be fun I was thinking. So we get home and I decide that he needs to wear them. I get ready for a huge battle. I turn on a cartoon and while he's watching I slip the glasses on his head. He watched the whole show with them on and he was sitting on the sofa. Something that he never does. I think that he realized that they help him see so he's been okay with them. The biggest thing is when people see him and say something about the glasses he takes them off. Also three or four times a day he tries to ditch them somewhere I just say no you need to wear them and he does without too much fuss. Its geeting easier everyday as he gets used to them. :)

Trevor got fitted for glasses on Friday. He hates them and I think its going to be a battle to get him to wear them. I'm not sad about him having to wear them because at least he can see. I just think that its going to take some getiing used to on both our parts. I must say though He did look very cute in them. :)

Trevor watching the Bee Movie, he brought out his giant bee.
At Trevor's Doctor appointment today they found out that he has a hernia. He needs to have surgery next month for that. The Dr. said that develomentally he's ahead of where he sould be at his age! That is huge! The Dr. feels that after Trevor's develoment appointment next month he won't have to be seen by them anymore. The Dr. told me that he can't believe how much Trevor has progressed in the last three months. I'm very happy!!!
Trevor also gained 3 pounds and grew 3 inchs which means he's back on the charts!

My Sister and I got pictures done of the boys for my Dads birthday.
There were a couple of tense moments like Trevor mot wanting to sit and Chaeton was hungry. In the end I think the pictures turned out great.

Little Grad reunion 2008

Every year there is a reunion at the hospital. We get to go and see all the Nurses and babies that we met during Trevor's hospital stay. They had a petting zoo, jumpy, clowns and games for the kids. Trevor did the fishing game and the football throw game. There was a fire truck that he got to sit and and he got to try on the hat.

We got to see his Nurse Katie. Love her! :)
This little girl has a twin and they were in the bed next to Trevor. She was a little unsure about Trevor. He on the other hand was laughing at her because she was afraid. :) Trevor in the petting zoo. They had the cutest little pigs.
Nurse Sarah thankfull she was there we hung out with her the whole time. Love her too! First thing she said when she saw he was "he doesn't have red hair!" The nurses used to tease me that he's hair was red.
It was great seeing everybody I wish I would have taken more pictures. There was too much going on!

Big boy bed!

Trevor got his race car bed finally! I was going to get him a fire truck bed for his birthday present. Toys R Us discontinued it and to order it online the shipping was $136.oo, which I felt was way too much.
Choice #2 was the race car bed. We went to the store Friday and looked at it, went in on Saturday to get one. I was told that they had just sold the last one and didn't know if they would get more of them. :( Choice #3 was the Cars bed which I didn't like very much. I asked if they could call around and find me one at a near by store. They found one and we went and got it last night. He loves it! I spent today fixing up his big boy room. I hung new pictures and posters. I went through and removed all the baby toys. Then we went and got a new comforter, I let Trevor get the one he wanted. I would have liked something with a race car theme but its his room not mine.
I love the way his new room looks and I finally found a place to hang up all my Mustang signs I've been collecting for years. :)

Trevor can finally reach the pedals on his motorcycle. He's had it for over a year and never been able to drive it, I just would push him around. Tonight I got the bright idea to charge the battery and see if it could ride it himself. He can now the only problem is its way past his bedtime and he won't get off the bike. That bike has sat there untouched for months but now that it moves on its own he loves it again. :)

We went to the fair for his birthday. I forgot the memory card to my camera so I couldn't take any pictures. :( Trevor did get to ride a pony, he loved it. He was laughing, smiling and waving at everyone the entire ride.
I can't believe how fast time goes, it seems like yesterday I had my baby boy. Back then things were so uncertain about if he was going to be okay. I'm so thrilled that everything has turned out so great. He's happy and he's healthly and the love of my life. That boy means the world to me and he has made me a better person.

Birthday plans!

I think that Trevor and I have narrowed his birthday theme down to two choices. When I show him what he can pick from he keeps pointing to Elmo but I'm over ruling that since he had that last year. The two others he keeps pointing to are Clifford and Curious George.
After Aunties Shower on Sunday I need to start planning his party. I have no idea what to do this time. I wanted to do pony rides but they are booked up the Saturday I want to have his party. Any suggestions??? I need to get going on this ASAP! I only have a little over a month to get things done.

Trevor's first haircut

As soon as he sat down in the chair I knew it was going to bad. He screamed and cried the entire time. I had to hold his arms because he kept pushing the lady cutting his hair away.
I had warned the lady that I didn't think the clippers were going to work with him. I suggested she use the scissors. She wanted to try them anyway, BIG mistake. The minute Trevor heard the noise he wasn't having any part of anything. The crying began and didn't stop until we walked out the door.He looks like such a big boy now!

Trevor went to the beach for the first time today. He wasn't to sure about the sand or the water. I think that the water might have been too cold.

Trevor and I took his bike outside for a ride today.
Unfortunately he kept getting off his bike to push it. He doesn't understand how to use the pedals yet. He just needs some practice.

Trevor has finally started to talk! This past week he's been saying and repeating a bunch of words. He had a Doctor appointment on Tues and she feels that he doesn't need to go to speech therapy. This was the doctor that needed to write the referral for him to take the speech classes . She said "this kid is normal, there's nothing wrong with him, he's right where he should be". Finally a Dr. that listens to me!
Trevor's pail becomes a hat and also works well as a snack holder.

Its been a while since I've been on here and a lot has been going on. Trevor had a 4am hospital two weeks ago thankfully he's feeling better. Trevor loved the basket the Easter bunny brought for him. I'm finally getting my long awaited job transfer. I've been waiting for two years and I'm excited that I won't have a long commute anymore.

This was a big deal. Trevor's favorite commercial is the one with the Geico Gecko. Evwerytime he hears the music and he will run up to the tv to watch. He also loves the Pickup Sticks commercial with the green dragon driving the forklift.
I have no idea why he felt the need to kiss the fireman. There were three fireman in a row and he went up to each one and gave them a kiss.

After having a great day at the park we go to the car and I can't find my keys. I had a spare key to the truck in my diaper bag so I opened the car thinking that I must have locked my keys inside. No such luck! I looked everywhere and went to lost and found I have no idea what happen to them. Its going to be a huge pain to try to replace all the keys. I'm so mad!

I been sick for a week. I haven't felt up to posting anything new. Trevor is talking more and more each day. That's good because we have to go to the speech therapist next month. Hopefully she'll see that he's fine and we won't have to go back.
I think he's getting sick too. :( We need to get better by Saturday because we are going to Lego Land.

I had to go to a meeting today so Grandma took Trevor to storytime. The theme today was fairytales and the kids got to make hats.

I love this picture of him. He looks sweet and innocent. Sundays are the ond day of the week that we have nothing to do and we just spend the whole day together. I look foward to it all week.
after his bath we got the slide out to play. He loves to go up the wrong way even though he knows how to go up the right way.
I guess its more fun that way.

March of dimes walk is coming up!

The March of dimes walk is going to be on 4/26. I reactivated last years team Trevor's Angels. I just need you guys to go on www.walkamerica.org/trevormichael and sign up. Hopefully we can get a great turnout like we did last year. I'm letting you guys know early enough so you can fit it into your schedules. I also need to get a head count as soon as possible so I can get started on making the t-shirts. I'm also going to need everybody's sizes. I think that shirts will make more of a statement then the pins I had made last year. Let me know what you guys think.
We had so much fun last year I'm really looking foward to the walk this year.

Its getting harder to take a picture of Trevor. I have a stupid camera where the flash pops up. Every time I start to take a picture of him he walks over and pushes the flash down. So I have to take pictures of him when he's not paying attention (above) or strapped in (below) something.

Trevor went to story time today at the libary. He Loves going. We sing songs, listen to a few books being read and then the kids get to play. Trevor is not shy he gets right into the middle of everything.
For dinner he had pasta. Thats always a huge mess. :)

Today I was supposed to go see Ellen. Its a long story but I didn't end up going.
So instead we went to get Trevor's pictures taken. He Wouldn't Smile so I ended up having be in some of the pictures with him. He just wasn't in the mood today I guess. He kept getting up and trying to leave. It was kind of funny.

No, this is not the outfit he had on for his pictures. He was wearing a really cute Valentine shirt. :) i'll post the pictures soon.

Trevor and I were babysitters today. Colin is three and has more a LOT of energy. He had Trevor and I on the go.
Trevor learned what it was like to have to share. I'm not sure if Trevor liked that part very much.
There was some screaming that went on. Trevor found the whole day very interesting. I defiantly didn't have a problem getting him to sleep tonight. I don't think that I'll have a problem either. :)

We went to story time at the Library today. Then went to the park. I discovered that the park closest to my house doesn't have any swing or things to play on just a big grape slide.
We didn't stay very long . What kind of park doesn't have a swing??
I've had a couple of people ask me about my secret to getting Trevor to go to sleep.

#1 don't let him sleep later then 4pm for his naps.

#2 dim the lights turn off the tv make it very quiet.

#3 read him a story

#4 put him in bed and when he gets up only talk to him the first time, after that if he gets up don't say anything just put him back down. ( I got that from Supernanny)
It usually takes me three times and then he goes to sleep.
Its been working great for me and its really so simple. Its been working for his naps too.

YES! I got my new issue of Parenting magazine. The cover story was Turn any baby into a good night sleeper. I read it and tried the tips and it worked he's a sleep at 8. That never happens, He's usually up until at least 11 sometimes later.
Let's see if I can get it to work everynight. :)
